Yesterday's #ccmusic find was the debut album of Israeli artist Dorine Levy. Upon finding this album it played continually in the ogg player for the better part of the day. Her vocals are rich and full and reminds me of the singer of Hungry Lucy. Ms Levy shows some real vocal talent. Her songwriting skills are better than the average in this realm. Her sound is called "Indiepop" and "electronica." I am not sure what that is exactly but I found it enjoyable to listen to.

Ms Levy's album will go into the archive and receive a regular listen but, sad to say, she has a sound the proliferates the CC-music scene. I think she has the talent to carry things a step or two further and I hope she does. This is a very good album and showcases her talents well. I hope to hear more from her in the future.

I have been in a very long dry spell lately when it comes to #ccmusic. The CC music scene is overrun with pimple-faced, angsty teenagers whose bands consist of an old TRS-80 computer with a music maker program and a cat who is in-heat and trapped in a metal trashcan. I know this because over the last several months I think I have found every one of these yutzes. My drought was so bad that I was going to the public library and ripping cds to find new music.

I found some real good cc-music in the unlikeliest of locales. I was listening to music tagged #steampunk on Google Play Music.  I am not exactly sure what steampunk music is but I did find the first of today's selections- Hungry Lucy.

Hungry Lucy is an older band. They have been around since the late 90s and produced several albums. The band reminds me of the Celtic artist Enya and the 90s band Sixpence None the Richer. The female vocals are crisp, clear, and remarkably clean. The music is rather haunting. This is a four-star+ band in my estimation. Several of the band's albums are on To me the best one is Pulse of the Earth.

The second CC-artist that I found is Emily Richards. I found her just this morning and have downloaded and listened to three of her many albums and they have been EXCELLENT! Her sound is in the indie-rock-folk category. She is an amazing songwriter and her vocals are incredible and she actually has a band backing her up!

I would, however, advise caution on the album Folded Wings. I guess Ms Richards had lost someone very close to her and this album is her working through the stages of grief. As I have recently lost a couple of people very close to me so this album moved me to tears in a few places. If you are depressed, depressive, or grieving this one might be a little rough on the emotions. Please, don't get me wrong, it is a GREAT album. It's just a little rough on tender emotions.

I highly recommend both of these artists. Give them a listen soon!
